The Church’s facilities are resources to serve the congregation’s mission—for religious, educational and social service activities. The following policies govern the use of FAMILY OF CHRIST’S (CHURCH) buildings, grounds and equipment.
ELIGIBLE USAGE:
- Church activities
- Funerals
- Weddings
- Rentals by outside groups and organizations – members and non-member, provided their purposes are consistent with CHURCH’s mission and their programs do not conflict with congregational activities.
REQUESTS FOR USE:
Reservations are required to use CHURCH facilities. All groups wishing to use any are of the buildings and grounds should reserve the space 30 days in advance (some exceptions including funerals).
- Application for use of CHURCH facilities must be made through the CHURCH office.
- The Church Office Admin shall serve as the primary contact for facility usage.
- The application must be approved before use of the facilities is allowed.
- The application is made by completing a Request For Use Form (specifying date, time, rooms and/or spaces and fees).
- A copy of this Facilities Use Policy will be reviewed prior to completing the Request For Use Form.
- The Pastor and Executive Council reserve the right to reject or cancel any Request for Use.
RULES AND REGULATIONS:
All activities must be held under competent supervision. Each group must designate a responsible adult. This person must:

- Be present when the facilities are being used.
- Secure doors and windows. See that lights are off. Verify that no one else is in the building and set the alarm before leaving.
- Assume full responsibility for the group (including children)
- Inspect facilities before and after each use to insure the facility is “like” or better condition.
- Each group must limit their usage to the areas designated.
- NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES OR ILLEGAL SUBSTANCE are allowed in the CHURCH facilities and/or grounds.
- The use of any tobacco product (smoking, e-cigarettes, or chewing tobacco) is NOT PERMITTED in the CHURCH facilities.
- Organizations/groups using the church facilities shall agree to indemnify the CHURCH for any and all damages to any persons or property.
- If requested, outside groups will be required to provide a liability waiver form and proof of liability insurance.
- Damage fees and/or additional custodial fees will be assessed against groups that do not comply with the rules.
- All beverage container must have lids on them. All spills must be cleaned up promptly with water and paper towels. DO NOT USE harsh cleaners on the carpeting.
- All kitchen equipment, including dishes and silverware, that were used, are to be washed or cleaned and returned to storage areas immediately after use. Please restrict food and beverage to the MPR and kitchen.
- Groups wanting to bring any apparatus or other equipment into the CHURCH facilities must specify the items in their application and have prior approval before the items may enter the CHURCH facilities.
- Nothing is to be removed from CHURCH facilities.
- Furniture and equipment within the CHURCH shall not be removed from its regular place without prior authorization. When permitted, the furniture and equipment must then be returned to its regular place.
- Church property (walls, doors, windows, chairs, counter tops., etc.) must not be defaced. Materials (tacks, tape, etc.) shall not be used if it would deface church property.
- Glitter may not be used. Rice, confetti and flower petals may not be thrown before, during or after an event at the CHURCH.
- It is the responsibility of the group using the facilities to arrange for the care of their personal property before, during and after the event. The CHURCH is not responsible and assumes no liability for lost or stolen items.
- All local and state ordinances and laws must be observed.
- The Council and Pastor reserve the right to restrict privileges of anyone, or any group, who violate these policies at any time.
- SCHEDULING PRIORITIES:
- Regularly scheduled CHURCH activities and organizations connected to Church sponsored programs shall have first priority in reserving any CHURCH facilities.
- Emergency events approved by the Pastor or Council, such as funerals, shall have priority over other scheduled activities.
- Groups will be required to be flexible (i.e. alter the date, time or location) when emergencies arise.
- EQUIPMENT:
The loaning of CHURCH furniture or equipment such as chairs, tables dishes, music ministry items, projectors, screens and tools for use away from the CHURCH facilities is prohibited. The exception is the tables stored in the garage. Prior arrangements for use of these items must be made with the Church office.
6. FEES: assessed by each use, and will be discussed before signed agreement.
